PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provides support for the professional learning process and the goal of creating Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) on campus. The department lead & Instructional Coach is a facilitator of team planning, professional development, student success initiatives, and professional growth aligned to the Campus Improvement Plan. As an instructional coach, the Lead facilitates change in the instructional practices of teachers that will enable them to diagnose student needs more analytically, plan more productively, and teach more effectively. The lead/instructional coach will also provide instructional modeling, and hands-on activities, both in small groups as well as with the entire staff, seeking to improve ELAR achievement for Seguin ISD students.
