JOb Description:
Hydroblast Technician's job primarily involves operating and maintaining high-pressure water blasting equipment to clean and prepare surfaces for various industrial applications. They are responsible for transporting, setting up, inspecting, operating, maintaining, and repairing this equipment, as well as disposing of hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Key Responsibilities:
- Operating Equipment:Safely operating and maintaining high-pressure water blasting equipment, including specialized tools and vacuum equipment.
- Maintenance:Conducting routine and required maintenance on the hydroblaster and its peripherals.
- Material Handling:Properly transporting, containing, and disposing of hazardous and non-hazardous materials resulting from the cleaning process.
- Safety:Following all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing and properly using personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Communication:Effectively communicating with supervisors and clients regarding safety, quality, and integrity of work.
- Troubleshooting:Identifying and reporting any mechanical failures or problems with the equipment.
Additional Duties:
- Site Setup: Preparing the work site, including setting up barricades, warning signs, or cones.
- Vacuum Operations: Performing vacuum operations using flex hose and hard pipe.
- Specialized Equipment: Operating specialized hydroblasting equipment or ultra-high-pressure pumps.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Technician or in a similar technical role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with industry-standard tools and equipment is preferred.
- A valid driver's license may be required for certain positions.
