Collections Specialist - Tinley Park

Segal McCambridge, a national litigation firm, is seeking a collections specialist to join our accounting/billing team based in our Tinley Park office. This position offers exponential opportunity for someone looking to perform challenging work in a collaborative, team environment within a well-established, but growing firm. This is an in-office position.

Essential Duties

• Handle a significant portfolio of firm wide client accounts; responsible for all facets of their collection;
• Research client payment activity and history;
• Review and analyze accounts receivable aging;
• Contact clients via phone, email and formal letters to follow-up on status of open receivables;
• Follow firm wide collection protocol and procedures including the use of the collection calendar; responsible for completion of daily collection assignments;
• Update collection calendar with collection follow-up reminders per firm policy;
• Answer internal account inquiries by responsible attorneys/partners;
• Report of collection status to collection team, Collections Supervisor and Executive Director during collection meetings;
• Prepare spreadsheets for account analysis and for use in the collection process;
• File documentation;
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by your supervisor(s).
  
  

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred
• A minimum of 1-3 years of accounts payable/billing experience; E-billing experience is a plus
• Experience with Elite Enterprise is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
