Job Summary
SEG Systems is a growing manufacturer of retail and trade show displays. We are seeking an experienced Prepress Specialist who can turn customer artwork into accurate, production-ready files for large-format and exhibit graphics. This hands-on role is ideal for a detail-oriented production professional who understands prepress workflow, color, materials, and the pace of a trade show environment.
The Prepress Specialist will partner with project managers, designers, production, vendors, and clients to evaluate incoming artwork, resolve technical issues, create proofs, and release files that meet job specifications and production deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, organize, archive, and maintain client artwork and job files using established naming, version-control, and file-management practices.
- Review supplied artwork for size, resolution, color space, fonts, links, bleed, overprint, transparency, and printability before release.
- Prepare and preflight files for grand-format digital printing, fabric graphics, rigid substrates, vinyl, banners, backlit graphics, and related exhibit components.
- Build accurate production files, including panels, tiling, seams, bleeds, crop marks, cut paths, and installation or finishing notes as required.
- Create clear digital and hard-copy proofs; communicate file issues and required corrections to project managers, designers, and clients.
- Manage PDF-based workflows, RIP/output preparation, font management, image optimization, and color-management requirements.
- Maintain production work-in-process status and support production scheduling, vendor coordination, and purchase-order documentation when needed.
- Collaborate with production and shipping teams to confirm graphic quantities, dimensions, packing requirements, and delivery priorities.
- Troubleshoot file, color, and output issues quickly while protecting quality, accuracy, and deadline commitments.
- Maintain organized job records and contribute to workflow improvements, quality standards, and repeatable prepress procedures.
- Stay current on large-format print technologies, materials, finishing methods, and trade show exhibit production practices.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of professional prepress, print-production, or large-format graphics experience.

- Working knowledge of PDF workflows, preflight tools, font management, color modes/profiles, image resolution, and output specifications.
- Experience with trade show exhibit graphics, grand-format printing, fabric graphics, or comparable display production.
- Ability to interpret job specifications, technical drawings, production notes, and client artwork requirements.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, prioritization, and follow-through in a deadline-driven environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to explain technical file issues to non-technical partners.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a cross-functional team.
- Portfolio or work samples demonstrating relevant prepress and production-file experience are preferred.
