What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Math Teacher position at Seffner Christian Academy?
Seffner Christian is looking for a full-time, 10-month high school math teacher. The ideal candidate would have experience working with secondary students and previous experience teaching math.
Purpose:
The position of teacher at Seffner Christian Academy (Ministry) requires the employee to perform ministerial functions, which are an integral part of his/her employment. These ministerial functions include, but are not limited to, leading and/or participating in staff devotions and/or prayer, sharing the Gospel with visitors or others when called upon to do so during the workday, and the written or verbal communication of biblical teachings. Teachers will also be required to live on- and off-duty in accordance with the Ministry’s statement of faith, code of conduct, and general beliefs.
Qualifications:
An SCA teacher is one who has received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. He/she is a member in good standing of an evangelical church and shall lead a mature Christian life. He/she shall reflect the purpose of the school to honor Christ in every area and in every activity. An SCA teacher shall be one who has a clear understanding of the aims and objectives of Christian education and the philosophy and policies of Seffner Christian Academy. He/she shall understand the mission and purpose of the school. Candidates ideally have a degree in math education or in a mathematics related field with a desire to take additional courses in education.
