TITLE: Business Teacher

TYPE OF POSITION:    Full-time (1.0); 2026-2027 school year; salary commensurate with experience and education, as set forth in the agreement between the Seekonk School Department and the Seekonk Educators Association

START DATE:   August 25, 2026

LOCATION:  Seekonk High School

REPORTS TO:  Building Principal       

 

The Business Teacher provides learning experiences in Business, guided by the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district standards and requirements. The Business Teacher is responsible for developing curriculum, instructional materials, and assessments for courses including business, entrepreneurship, marketing, accounting, and management.

  

QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered qualified for this position, candidates must minimally have the following:

  1. Licensed, or eligible for licensure in Business (5-12) by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
  2. Knowledge of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
  3. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with children and adults.
  4. Strong ability to develop curriculum, instructional resources, and assessments
  5. Commitment to remain current in content knowledge and teaching strategies.
  6. Ability to relate well with students, colleagues, parents, and staff.
  7. Experience in teaching business courses with the ability to teach a variety of business related courses preferred.
  8. Master’s Degree in Business or Business related field preferred.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS which include but are not limited to:

  1. Develop and implement high quality lessons that are innovative and engaging and prepare students for success in the business environment of the 21st century.
  2. Create learning experiences that enhance the integration of environmental, social and corporate governance topics into course design.
  3. Partner with Roger Williams University faculty to offer dual enrollment courses in business topics.
  4. Collaborate with other departments to create interdepartmental experiences for students.
  5. Utilize appropriate business applications as they support student learning.
  6. Develop students’ knowledge and understanding of accounting, as well as economic concepts, business ethics and social responsibility, global economy, how the government affects business, finances and financial institutions, as well as entrepreneurship, marketing, advertising, technology, and social media.
  7. Design and implement a variety of assessment methods in order to monitor student learning.
  8. Implement a Universal Design for Learning (UdL) approach when developing units of study, lessons, and assessments.
  9. Utilize instructional practices utilized to support students with disabilities and English learners.
  10. Explore the potential for participation in DECA-related activities or other comparable co-curricular opportunities for students at the local, state, and national levels.
  11. Other duties, as assigned by the principal, according to the SEA contract.

Salary : $51,119 - $103,826
