Seedbox Solution, a reusable packaging and services provider for the agriculture industry is based in Gurnee, IL and is seeking a Plant Manager to oversee and support the development and growth of our Shenandoah, IA service facility. Our Shenandoah facility serves companies in the agricultural industry by providing reusable packaging and related packaging services, such as cleaning, repair, storage, and transportation. We pride ourselves in high transparency and a small team mentality with no wrong answers - only learning opportunities.

Our growing company is looking for an individual that possesses at least five years of managerial experience in an industrial environment. experience managing multiple-shift teams with an ability to hold people accountable is a must. Candidate should have a strong operational and analytical mindset and will be required to continually seek out operational efficiencies and cost containment. In addition, a qualified candidate will have sound computer skills to execute routine reporting and communication across the company.

Experience in the agriculture (seed) industry is highly beneficial. Four-year degree is a plus but not required with the right work experience. The Plant Operation Manager will lead all phases of plant operations, including, but not limited to personnel staffing/training/oversight, quality control, inventory management, transportation & logistics, and customer-facing relationships on a limited basis. A well-rounded candidate will be able to meld to the management team’s style and join as a key member. Limited travel for meetings and training will be required.

Key responsibilities:

Oversight of production, safety, adherence to quality standards, training and employee relations.

Hiring of key personnel and general labor force.

Managing labor efficiently and effectively, to meet through-put goals and customer demand

Cultivate and maintain a positive workforce environment through employee relations on a personal and team level

Quickly develop a strong competency with processes and technology, to properly capture and communicate production data.

Willingness to jump in and get your hands dirty every day.

Willingness to occasionally travel (as required, albeit limited).

May occasionally be asked to perform duties outside the scope of this job description. This position is our “go-to” person when we need problems solved at the facility.
