Is a state-of-the-art research facility currently being built at the Discovery Labs site in King of Prussia, PA. Located in the Pennsylvania-New Jersey Pharma corridor, this site is within driving distance to world class shopping, dining, and educational institutions. The Seed Research Laboratory at Discovery Labs will be the innovation engine that drives our molecular glue discovery efforts towards the clinic.
We Are Looking For…
A driven Senior Scientist with an expertise in medicinal chemistry, to collaborate in the building of an advanced medicinal chemistry group, pioneering the discovery of molecular glues to induce the targeted degradation of disease causing proteins. This individual will work across the company to not only accomplish their own goals, but contribute to the accomplishment of goals of most Seed groups and drug development projects. Importantly, the person we are looking for will be dedicated to company success through leading and taking responsibility for determined, intelligent and ethical drug development efforts aiming to treat human disease.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
· Lead medchem projects, accomplish group goals for the advancement of HTS Hits to Leads and IND candidates
· Contribute to HTS library selection, hits selection and confirmation
· Supervise junior scientists
· Work with in-house Protein Science, Biology and Technology groups, as well as external CROs, to accomplish goals within set timelines, maintaining high quality
· Maintain meticulous records to capture the data and value created internally and externally
· Collaborate across the company and with external collaborators to advance Seed’s drug discovery platforms and drug candidates
· Supervise scientists at CROs and manage tasks performed externally
· Prepare formal oral and written presentations, study reports, manuscripts, patent applications and SOPs
Required Qualifications for Consideration Are…
· Ph.D. with at least 8 years combined post-PhD work, with extensive hands-on experience in all standard aspects of Medicinal Chemistry related to small molecule drug discovery
· At least 5 years’ experience utilizing pharmacophore, SAR and/or QSAR modeling to advance small molecule drug discovery and development projects
· At least 5 years’ experience directly supervising CRO compound synthesis and successfully managing deliverables
· Hands on experience with leading computational software/tools
· Significant experience capturing, storing and analyzing compound testing data, utilizing software designed for such purposes
· Track record of patents and peer-reviewed publications reporting the success of medicinal chemistry related efforts
· Hands on work contributing towards discovering agents causing targeted protein degradation is a plus
· >5 years’ experience in a small to mid-size biotech is a plus
