Commercial HVAC/Refrigeration Technician
New Jersey | $30–$48/Hour DOE | Full-Time | Permanent
Our client, a well-established and growing mechanical services company in New Jersey, is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC/Refrigeration Technician to join their service team. This is a full-time, permanent position offering competitive pay, steady year-round work, and an excellent long-term career opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. We are looking for a skilled technician with strong diagnostic abilities who can work independently in the field and provide professional service to commercial customers.
Responsibilities
- Service, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment
- Work on rooftop units, split systems, package units, heat pumps, refrigeration systems, walk-in and reach-in coolers/freezers, and related equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, airflow, and refrigeration issues
- Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
- Repair or replace compressors, motors, controls, electrical components, valves, and other system components
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
- Accurately document service calls, repairs, and recommended work
- Communicate professionally with customers and team members
- Follow company safety procedures and applicable industry standards
Qualifications
- Previous commercial HVAC and/or refrigeration service experience
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical HVAC components
- Experience working with commercial refrigeration equipment strongly preferred
- EPA certification preferred
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in the field
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Dependable, professional, and committed to quality workmanship
Compensation & Opportunity
