Available Schedule: Part-Time. Hours and days will be discussed during interview. Must be able to work Saturdays and Sundays.
BROAD SCOPE OF POSITION: Under the supervision of the Activities Coordinator, assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of a comprehensive activities program designed to enrich the lives of residents. Encourage participation in social, recreational, educational, cultural, and wellness activities that support residents' physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being. Assist with activity preparation, event setup and cleanup, resident transportation to and from activities, community outings, and maintaining activity supplies. Foster meaningful relationships with residents and create a fun, engaging, and welcoming environment that promotes quality of life and resident satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Work in conjunction with Activity Coordinator to create a program of activities for Assisted Living residents.
· Schedule, coordinate and implement an activity program to all residents, according to residents’ abilities
· Prepare residents for meals and snacks and assist residents in dining room
· Keep proper records of care and activities implemented
· Follow all safety and infection control policies and procedures
· Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms, common areas, offices and corridors as scheduled. Ensure safety in all areas
· Attend all required in-service training
· Comply with and understand all resident rights issues
· Communicate all pertinent information to L.P.N., Activity Coordinator, and Executive Director
· Communicate with oncoming shift to ensure follow through of duties
· Report unsafe or hazardous conditions immediately
· Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: (With or without the aid of mechanical devices)

· Pushing and pulling
· Distinguishing smells, tastes and temperatures
· Hear and respond to resident emergency call system
SPECIAL SKILLS OR REQUIREMENTS:
· Communications skills
· Maintain composure under stress
· Be able to identify and assist in emergency medical situations
· Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, community and State officials and general public
· Compassion and desire to work with frail and elderly
· Meet all State health requirements
· Able to work on full or part time regular schedule and on-call as needed
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
· High school diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
· Experience in long term or geriatric care
· Experience in senior activity programs
