Role OverviewDocument Processors are contractors responsible for the handling and digitization of Native American trust records received at the American Indian Records Repository. This includes preparing documents for scanning, performing data entry into a collective database, and ensuring all work aligns with company policies and the facility’s research agreements and protocols. The role requires the utmost care, confidentiality, and attention to detail in handling sensitive records.
General Duties
- Handle boxes weighing up to 50 lbs and be able to lift above head
- Shelve, lift, and palletize boxes
- Verify box contents against provided inventories and labels
- Prepare documents for digitization, including:- Organizing documents- Removing fasteners from bound materials- Repairing damaged pages using appropriate supplies- Adding notations for scanning- Maintaining organization and attention to detail- Ensuring confidentiality and careful handling of sensitive materials
- Operate scanning equipment for high-volume document digitization
- Use quality control software to review and correct scanned images
- Reassemble and sort boxes onto pallets; seal with anti-tampering tape
- Accurately enter data into database systems and spreadsheets
- Follow company handbook and facility-specific research protocols
