ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE

HOURS: 7:30AM-430PM THRU END OF MARCH- COULD EXTEND

LOCATION: WAUKON, IA

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Associate to support the accounting department with daily financial and administrative activities. This position will assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, inventory accounting, data entry, and general ledger functions while utilizing NetSuite ERP and other company systems.

The ideal candidate is dependable, accurate, comfortable working with numbers, and able to communicate effectively with employees and departments throughout the organization. This is a direct hire opportunity. Meaning, the right fit candidate will go directly onto the hiring company's payroll and be eligible for their benefits package.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist with processing and coding accounts payable invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts.
• Assist with accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, payment application, and monitoring past-due accounts.
• Enter and maintain accurate accounting information in NetSuite.
• Assist with bank, credit card, and other account reconciliations.
• Enter and maintain inventory transactions, including products received, sold, returned, and pricing information.
• Assist with monthly closing activities and preparation of financial reports.
• Review accounting records for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with maintaining supporting documentation for audits and tax filings.
• Assist with departmental accounting for agronomy, construction, feed, grain, and other operations.
• Maintain organized accounting files and records.
• Provide administrative support to the accounting team as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information.
• Work collaboratively with accounting staff and other departments to resolve accounting questions and issues.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
• Previous accounting, bookkeeping, or office experience preferred.
• Experience with NetSuite or another ERP/accounting system preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability and willingness to learn company-specific accounting and agricultural business processes.
