The Healthy Babies Enrollment Specialist provides intake, family needs evaluations and referrals for pregnant and newly parenting individuals and families in Sedgwick County. The program’s focus is on reduction of infant and maternal mortality, low birth weight, and prematurity among high-risk families. This position may be deployed to provide support during public health emergencies (Activation Level 1).

Enrollment and Recruitment

  • Complete screenings and provide education and outreach.
  • Enroll clients in the Healthy Babies Program
  • Manage waiting list and provider caseloads within established parameters
  • Make referrals to other community agencies based on individual client needs.
  • Provide program information to local agencies to increase enrollment.
  • Participate in 3 outreach events per year.

In-Office/Customer Service

  • Receive referrals from community and call clients within 48 hours of referral to set-up enrollment appointment.
  • Explain and promote Healthy Babies program to potential clients.
  • Manage email inboxes and faxes; monitor and respond to requests
  • Attend assigned training.

Documentation and Data for Grant Reports

  • Complete documentation from client visits daily.
  • Maintain client privacy and confidentiality.
  • Track referral and enrollment data. Provide weekly data reports to Senior Administrative Officer.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of experience in a social services-related field. One (1) year of experience in data entry. Must obtain Community Health Worker (CHW) certification within 12 months of employment, or within 6 months of enrollment in the CHW training, whichever is earlier. Must complete Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) IS 100 and 700 courses within 30 days of employment.

Preferred Qualifications: Four (4) years of experience working in a social services setting. Up to four years of experience may be substituted with education that provides applicable knowledge and skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. One (1) year of experience with electronic charting systems. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Certified Community Health Worker.
