Job Posting: IT Platform Engineer – Location: Full-time on-site in the office at 1600 N 1275 W Orem, UT

Compensation: $65k-$70k DoE plus company paid medical and up to 4.5% 401k match and many other benefits

The Role: Your Impact

As an IT Platform Engineer, you will be a driving force in making our IT operations faster, stronger, and more scalable. You’ll become responsible for everything in the IT stack up to and including the Hypervisor: Physical Hardware, Host Operating System, Hypervisor, Virtualization Management Plane, Virtual I/O Components. This role is a perfect blend of system administration, security hardening, and hands-on coding, with a focus on Infrastructure as Code.

Your Mission (Should You Choose to Accept It):

• Automate Everything: Design, develop, and deploy scripts (primarily Ansible, Python and Bash) to automate system configuration, compliance checks, and security monitoring tasks, with a strong focus on Infrastructure as Code.
• Guard the Gates: Apply a security-first mindset to all system administration, focusing on Zero Trust principles, SaaS security, and identity management.
• The Power of the Prompt: Work with internal AI tools by designing, testing, and optimizing AI prompts to assist Senior IT Engineers, DevOps and other teams with data analysis, reporting, and incident triage.
• Be the Builder: Own the lifecycle of our security tooling, from initial configuration to building automated incident response workflows.
• Collaborate and Document: Work closely with other IT engineers and Security Professionals, documenting every automation and solution for repeatability, adhering to solid coding practices and code documentation.

Ideal Qualifications and Abilities:

Experience & Baseline Skills:

• IT, CS, IS, or related degree, or 1-2 years of proven hands-on experience in a technical role that involved scripting or coding.
• Strong foundational knowledge of networking (TCP/IP), Linux/Ubuntu systems, system administration, hypervisor technologies, and hyper-converged infrastructure.
• Familiarity with SaaS security principles and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Key Technical Powers (The Must-Haves):

• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
• Hands-on experience with scripting/automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, or similar).
• Experience with Source Code Control (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket), including practical experience with Github Actions, Runners, and Copilot.
• Basic system administration experience (Ubuntu, Linux).
• Familiar with containerization tools like Docker.
• A strong interest in, and ability to, effectively structure and optimize inputs for Generative AI tools to produce actionable results (AI Prompt Engineering).
• An understanding of solid coding practices and code documentation; not a "Vibe Coder."

Preferred Skills (The Bonus Artifacts):

• Network and IT systems security knowledge (Security level or higher).
• Experience with Google Workspace Administration and Enterprise Security.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust Identity Systems.
• Experience with Ansible.
