Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and professional Security Screener to join our team. This role is vital in maintaining a safe and secure environment at our facility, with a focus on passenger safety, security protocols, and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have a background or interest in aviation, security, or customer service, and possess strong conflict management skills. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough security screenings of passengers, luggage, and cargo in accordance with established protocols
- Operate screening equipment such as metal detectors, X-ray machines, and other security tools effectively
- Monitor surveillance systems and perform regular patrols of the premises to identify potential security threats
- Enforce safety regulations and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local security policies
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting travelers with questions or concerns while maintaining security standards
- Manage conflict situations calmly and professionally, de-escalating issues as needed
- Document security incidents accurately and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
Experience
- Prior experience in aviation security, customer service, or related fields is preferred but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates
- Strong understanding of security procedures and protocols is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle stressful situations effectively
- Experience in conflict management and de-escalation techniques is highly desirable
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed
