Armed Access Control Officer – Luxury Residential
We are seeking a professional, experienced, and dependable Armed Access Control Officer for a luxury residential high-rise property in the Brickell / Downtown Miami area.
This position requires an officer who understands both security operations and luxury residential service standards. The Armed Access Control Officer is responsible for maintaining a visible security presence, monitoring assigned access points, verifying authorization to enter, and supporting the safety of residents, guests, and employees.
The ideal candidate must communicate clearly, remain alert, exercise sound judgment, and enforce property procedures respectfully and consistently.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible armed security presence at the assigned access control post.
- Verify resident, guest, vendor, and contractor access according to property procedures.
- Direct visitors to the appropriate registration location and help prevent unauthorized entry and tailgating.
- Remain attentive to pedestrian and vehicle activity near assigned entrances.
- Maintain post coverage and coordinate with the supervisor before leaving the assigned area.
- Follow all post orders, uniform standards, break procedures, and property policies.
- Respond to access concerns, suspicious activity, resident requests, alarms, and emergencies within assigned responsibilities.
- Promptly contact the Security Supervisor when an interaction escalates or requires additional assistance.
- Complete clear and accurate Daily Activity Reports, incident reports, violation reports, and shift pass-down notes.
- Maintain radio communication and respond promptly to calls for assistance.
- Communicate professionally with residents, guests, vendors, contractors, employees, Management, and law enforcement.
- Assist with emergency procedures as directed, including fire alarms, medical emergencies, disturbances, and evacuations.
- Conduct patrols when assigned, including residential floors, amenities, garages, receiving areas, stairwells, and the exterior perimeter.
- Report safety concerns, access equipment issues, and unusual conditions to the supervisor.
- Uphold the property’s service standards through courteous, fair, and consistent enforcement.
Qualifications
- Valid Florida Class D Security License required.
- Valid Florida Class G Armed Security License required.
- Prior armed security experience required.
- Access control experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in luxury residential, condominium, HOA, hotel, or high-rise security strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, observation, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to write clear, accurate, and professional reports.
- Punctual, dependable, and accountable for assigned duties.
- Professional and polished appearance.
- Ability to remain calm and respectful during stressful situations.
- Ability to stand, walk, patrol, and use stairs for extended periods.
- Comfortable interacting with residents, guests, vendors, contractors, employees, Management, and law enforcement.
- Basic computer, phone, radio, and report-writing skills.
