Full Truckload Transportation Company Seeking Experienced Driver Recruiter.
Security Transport is an asset-based transportation and logistics provider. We are seeking an experienced recruiter to support our fleet expansion. The primary objective of this role is to source, screen, and onboard professional truck drivers, with a heavy focus on contract Owner-Operators, as well as qualified W-2 company drivers. In addition, the role will be responsible for filling additional roles, as needed.
The ideal candidate has recruitment experience within the trucking industry, an understanding of driver motivations, and familiarity with compliance standards. While driver acquisition is the core focus, this individual may also be asked to assist with recruiting for other positions within the company such as corporate, administrative, or maintenance job openings across the company.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Interviewing CDL-A driver Candidates by Phone, Virtually, and in Person
- Utilizing Hiring Job Boards specific to the Transportation Industry
- Background Checking Applicants

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Driver Recruitment (Primary Focus)
- Source, recruit, and build pipelines of Owner-Operators and W-2 company drivers using job boards, social media, billboards, cold outreach, and trucking industry forums.
- Respond to inbound inquiries and applications promptly to maintain a strong candidate experience.
- Explain company compensation structures, freight opportunities, and corporate culture to prospects.
- Review driver applications, pre-qualify candidates, and conduct phone & virtual interviews to evaluate driving history, experience, and qualifications.
Compliance & Verification
- Coordinate with the Safety and Compliance Department to ensure prospects meet Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) standards.
- Help facilitate background screening processes, including Motor Vehicle Reports (MVR), Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) logs, criminal checks, and DOT-mandated drug testing.
- Verify previous employment and commercial driving histories in strict adherence to FMCSR regulations.
Onboarding & Early Retention
- Manage the transition from candidate to active fleet member, coordinating orientation logistics and contract documentation.
- Maintain proactive check-ins with newly onboarded drivers during their first 60 days to address operational concerns and optimize early retention.
Auxiliary Corporate Recruiting
- Provide cross-functional recruitment support by sourcing, interviewing, and facilitating placement for non-driver requisitions (such as dispatchers, diesel mechanics, or administrative roles) as needed.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of recruiting experience. Direct experience in driver recruiting within the trucking or logistics industry is highly preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial transportation, specifically the distinction between contract Owner-Operators (independent contractors) and W-2 company drivers.
- Regulatory Fluency: Working knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA guidelines, and hours-of-service compliance requirements.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) — such as Tenstreet or IntelliApp — and major resume databases such as really.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, handle phone screens, and answer questions from candidates.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS & KPIS
- Monthly Volume: Maintain a consistent target of onboarding a minimum of (6) qualified drivers per calendar month.
- Fleet Stability: Bring on sustainable professional drivers to directly grow the company's active driver roster over time.
- Pipeline Velocity: Maintain an efficient time-to-hire metric while ensuring 100% compliance with safety and screening rules.
COMPENSATION & COMMISSION STRUCTURE
- Full-Time / W-2 Base Commission
- Work Location: Company Offices, Hammond, IN (this is an in-office position, not remote)
- Base Salary: $50,000 per year
- Year 1 Target: $75,000 - 90,000, commensurate with results
- Target Hires per Month: 6 drivers per month
- Commission Terms & Payouts based on Monthly Retention and Total Driver Headcount at the end of each Month.
