JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing financial analysis to drive strategic decision-making.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Financial Analysis (40%)
- Assists with monthly, quarterly reports and other reports for Executive management and Board of Directors. Provide analysis of reports and complete any research needed.
- Evaluates and implements more efficient processes for report production.
- Recommends revisions to reporting to provide enhanced tools for decision making.
Assist with Management of Exposure to Interest Rate Risk (10%)
- Assists with preparation of reporting related to interest rate risk and asset-liability management.
- Evaluates and implements more efficient processes for report production.
- Recommends revisions to reporting to provide enhanced tools for decision making.
- Stays alert to industry best practices.
Assist with Management of Exposure to Liquidity Risk (10%)
- Assists with preparation of reporting related to liquidity risk management.
- Assists with management of liquidity funding sources.
- Evaluates and implements more efficient processes for report production.
- Recommends revisions to reporting to provide enhanced tools for decision making.
- Stays alert to industry best practices.
Financial Analysis of Alternative Investment Options (5%)
- Performs financial analysis of potential tax incentives being considered (ex. LIHTC, solar tax credits) as needed and provides recommendation to Executive Management.
- Performs financial analysis of potential hedging options (ex. Balance sheet or loan-level hedges) as needed and provides recommendations to Executive Management.
- Performs financial analysis of potential acquisition opportunities being considered (ex. Acquisition of a vendor that provides a related service like insurance or other services) as needed and provides recommendations to Executive Management.
Assist with Management of Exposure to Capital Risk (5%)
- Assist with preparation of capital planning reporting.
- Evaluates and implements more efficient processes for report production.
- Recommends revisions to reporting to provide enhanced tools for decision making.
- Stays alert to industry best practices.
Incentive Program Development (10%)
- Works with business units to develop incentive models
- Assists with payout calculations and distributing information to business units.
- Analyzes relationship between incentives and financial performance results
Backup other Accounting team members (10%)
- Provides backup other roles as needed.
- Provides feedback on improving documented procedures.
Other Duties as Assigned (10%)
- Participates in monthly Funds Management Committee meetings as needed
- Performs additional reporting or financial analysis as needed.
- Works on special projects and needed.
- Writes and runs Viewpoint reports as needed
- Develops familiarity with ProfitStars budgeting/ALM model
Performs other duties as required and assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of financial analysis and reporting including budgeting, forecasting, close reporting, and month-end variance analysis.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices,
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
- Expert-level capability using MS Excel, Power BI and other similar tools.
- Intermediate-level capability using MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
- Proficient skills in multi-tasking and prioritizing projects.
- Excellent time management skills and be accustomed to meeting deadlines.
- Ability to complete the required training by assigned due date.

EDUCATION
- Minimum of a four-year college degree with emphasis in accounting, business, or finance required.
EXPERIENCE*
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial analysis required.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the financial industry required.
