Security Management Inc. (SMI) is seeking a dependable, professional, and bilingual Back-Up Security Supervisor to support security operations at the UPS Cargo facility. This position requires flexibility, strong leadership skills, computer proficiency, and the ability to work various assignments based on operational needs.
The selected candidate will provide supervisory coverage when needed while also performing regular Security Officer duties. Applicants must be willing to work all shifts, all days of the week, including weekends and holidays.
Position Details & Pay Rates:
- Supervisor Rate: $24.05 per hour when working in a supervisory capacity.
- Security Officer Rate: $22.62 per hour when assigned to regular Security Officer duties.
- Employment Type: Full-time.
- Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week.
- Location: UPS Cargo facility.
- Schedule: Flexible; all shifts and all days of the week.
Scheduling Requirements:
This position requires complete scheduling flexibility. The selected candidate will be assigned to various posts and shifts based on operational requirements, including providing backup supervisory coverage when needed.
Candidates must be available to work:
- Day, afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts.
- Weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Different posts and assignments as directed by management.
A tentative weekly schedule will be discussed during the interview process. Applicants should understand that the schedule may change based on staffing requirements and operational needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is mandatory.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in security or a related field is preferred.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and other basic Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prepare reports, maintain accurate records, and use computer-based systems.
- Professional demeanor and the ability to communicate effectively with management, employees, and clients.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation and a strong attendance record.
- Ability to adapt to changing assignments, schedules, and operational demands.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Key Responsibilities:
The Back-Up Security Supervisor will be responsible for supporting daily security operations and maintaining professional standards across all assigned posts.
Duties include:
- Provide supervisory coverage at various posts when required.
- Perform regular Security Officer duties when not assigned to a supervisory role.
- Assist with daily staffing coverage and operational continuity.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, site procedures, and post orders.
- Prepare incident reports, daily activity reports, and other required documentation.
- Communicate staffing concerns, incidents, and operational updates to management.
- Assist with responding to emergencies and security-related incidents.
- Provide guidance and support to Security Officers when serving in a supervisory capacity.
- Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and sound judgment at all times.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

This is a flexible, full-time position designed to provide coverage across multiple posts and shifts at the UPS Cargo facility. Candidates who are unable to work all shifts, all days of the week, or provide supervisory backup coverage should not apply.
