Lumber & Building Materials Sales/Estimator (Windows & Doors)

Experience with manufacturer systems such as Anderson, ProVia, Therma-Tru, or similar strongly preferred.
Experience with building materials, construction & blue prints required or strongly preferred.
Dependable, detail-oriented salesperson for a lumber yard/building materials environment. This role works closely with contractors, builders, and home owners, with a strong focus on window and door quoting, ordering, and estimating using industry software.
Candidates with experience in window & door configuration, order entry systems, and contractor sales will be strongly considered.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with contractors, builders, and homeowners
- Prepare accurate quotes, estimates, and orders for windows, doors, and building materials
- Use window and door configuration software and manufacturer quoting systems
- Enter and manage orders using order entry platforms/POS systems
- Perform material takeoffs and assist with estimating
- Support product selection and specifications for projects
- Read and interpret construction plans (helpful but not required)
- Manage multiple quotes and projects while maintaining accuracy and timelines
- Build and maintain long-term contractor and customer relationships
Experience
- Prior retail sales experience, preferably in building materials or hardware stores, is highly desirable
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering procedures, and basic retail math is essential
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask are critical for success in this role
- Experience in building materials, sales, lumber yard sales, or contractor sales preferred
- Strong knowledge of windows, doors, millwork, and related products
- Experience using window/door quoting or ordering software strongly preferred
- Familiarity with manufacturer systems (Andersen, ProVia, Therma-Tru, or similar)
- Familiarity with window/door configuration software, estimating systems, order entry platforms, and general building materials sales tools preferred
- Material takeoff and estimating experience a plus
- Blueprint reading helpful but not required
- Strong math, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and customer service abilities
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects
