Security Lock & Key is hiring an experienced Commercial Locksmith / Door & Automatic Door Technician based in or around Richmond, Virginia to support our growing customer base throughout Richmond and the surrounding areas. This position includes a fully stocked company service van, company-provided tools and equipment, health insurance, 401(k), paid training, and opportunities for advancement. We are looking for a true problem solver who can troubleshoot the complete opening - locks, hardware, doors, frames, closers, automatic door operators, and automatic sliding doors - determine the root cause, and provide the customer with the right solution.

What You'll Do:
Our technicians work on the complete commercial opening, including:
- Commercial locksmith service and repair
- Rekeying and master key systems
- Commercial doors and frames
- Architectural door hardware / Division 8
- Exit devices and panic hardware
- Door closers
- Electrified hardware
- Access-control-related door hardware
- Automatic door operators
- Automatic sliding doors
- Commercial installations and project work
The problem is not always the part that appears to be broken. You should be able to evaluate the complete opening, identify the actual cause of the problem, recommend the proper solution, and carry that solution through for the customer.
You will handle service work independently while remaining part of the Security Lock & Key team and working alongside other technicians on larger jobs and projects.
What We're Looking For:
- Professional experience in commercial locksmithing, door and hardware service, automatic doors, access control, or a combination of these trades
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to diagnose the complete opening rather than simply replace parts
- Experience installing and repairing commercial door hardware
- Ability to work independently and manage daily service responsibilities
- Professional communication and customer service skills
- Dependable, organized, accountable, and safety-minded
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Willingness to travel throughout Richmond and surrounding areas and assist with larger projects as needed
Experience with automatic door operators, automatic sliding doors, electrified hardware, access control, commercial doors and frames, and Division 8 work is a plus.
AAADM certification is a plus but is not required. We can provide AAADM training and certification for the right technician.
