Professional Security Consultants at Valley West Mall l is currently hiring for Part time and full time Security Officers with weekend (Friday and Saturday) availability. Starting rate is $17.00 hour

JOB SUMMARY:

· Provide Superior Customer Service; A “People Person”, enthusiastic and friendly

· Watches for irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contacts emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel as required.

· Remains alert for the presence of unauthorized persons and/or security code violators; approaches suspicious person and/or notifies police as appropriate; may confront and detain violators, as required, until police arrive.

· May provide specialized security in complex operational areas, requiring specific knowledge of the operating environment.

JOB SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing.

· Basic knowledge of computers.

· Ability to walk and climb stairs.

· Ability to see and hear accurately in both day and nighttime conditions.

· Ability to comprehend numerous policies, procedures, concepts and to be able to respond using discretion and interpretive judgment based on general and specific policies.

· Ability to retain knowledge, information, and directions on an ongoing basis and communicate effectively with others.

· Ability to react appropriately in emergency situations.

· Knowledge of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid (Training Provided if needed)

· Knowledge of the geography of the site to which assigned.

· Skills in operating portable radio devices and phones.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Requirements:

• 21 or older
• Must be able to obtain a valid guard card
• Clean driving record and able to provide a driving abstract from Secretary of State office.
• Self-motivated with good verbal skills
• Arrive at work on time.
• Be in uniform, ready for the supervisor’s inspection and briefing, at the start of your shift.
• Review Pass-down Binder / Daily briefing with Supervisor on Duty (or Director/Assistant Director).
• Complete Sign in/out of equipment inventory sheets (beginning and end of shifts).
• Completes inspections of truck if deployed as such.
• Patrols the property.
• Completes various inspections within the deployment exterior zones using the CASE mobile tours.
• Tenant notifications (citations) for stores and vehicle violations (i.e. employee parking, lease line and trash issues).
• Notify dispatch / maintenance of lighting issues throughout the mall and parking lots.
• Customer service and enforcing the client’s code of conduct.
• Responding to radio calls.
• Responds to radio calls or observations made about incidents including but not limited to physical or verbal fights and altercations; medical assists; accidents or injuries; and major crimes.
• Notifies Dispatch and Supervisor of all accidents / incidents, maintenance / housekeeping issues, or any other unusual or suspicious activity found on the property.
• Report writing.
