Location: North Chicago, IL
Starting Pay: $17.00/hour
Available Shifts:
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Professional Security Consultants (PSC) is seeking professional, customer-service-oriented Security Officers to join our team at a premier outdoor shopping center in North Chicago. We are looking for dependable individuals who enjoy working with the public, take pride in maintaining a safe environment, and are committed to providing exceptional customer service.
Position Overview
As a Security Officer, you will serve as a highly visible representative of PSC and the shopping center. Officers are responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for shoppers, tenants, employees, and visitors through proactive patrols, incident response, and enforcement of property rules and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide superior customer service while maintaining a professional and approachable presence.
- Conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols throughout the shopping center, parking lots, and common areas.
- Monitor for security breaches, safety hazards, suspicious activity, and emergency situations.
- Respond to incidents including disturbances, medical emergencies, accidents, injuries, and criminal activity.
- Contact and coordinate with law enforcement, fire departments, EMS, and other emergency responders when necessary.
- Enforce property rules, regulations, and the client's Code of Conduct.
- Respond to calls for service from tenants, shoppers, and management.
- Investigate incidents and complete clear, accurate, and timely reports.
- Identify and report maintenance concerns, lighting outages, safety hazards, and housekeeping issues throughout the property.
- Assist customers by providing directions, escorts, and general information.
- Maintain accountability for assigned equipment and patrol vehicles.
- Remain alert for unauthorized individuals and take appropriate action in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Illinois Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to walk extended distances and work outdoors in varying weather conditions for prolonged periods.
- Ability to remain calm and react appropriately during emergency situations.
- Ability to operate radios, telephones, and other security-related equipment.

- Arrive on time and prepared for duty.
- Report to work in full uniform and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Review pass-down information and daily briefings at the beginning of each shift.
- Demonstrate reliability, integrity, and strong customer service skills.
- Serve as a positive representative of Professional Security Consultants and the client property.
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
