Position Summary:
As a Personal Banker, you’ll serve as a trusted resource for new and existing customers by identifying financial needs and recommending appropriate banking products and services. This role blends customer service with sales and lending responsibilities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Build relationships by interviewing customers to understand financial needs and goals
- Open and maintain deposit accounts, including IRAs and HSAs
- Educate customers on banking products, digital tools, and associated fees
- Take and process consumer loan applications, including credit analysis and loan closing
- Ensure all lending and account activities comply with bank policies and regulations
- Support customers with digital banking, fraud prevention, and account maintenance
- Maintain and monitor IRA and HSA accounts for accuracy and compliance
- Process specialized account requests, including decedent accounts
- Follow up on past due loans and assist with account resolution
- Partner with Treasury Management team to refer business services
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous customer service experience required; banking experience preferred
- Strong sales and relationship-building skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally
- Comfortable using computers and learning new systems
- Knowledge of banking products and services preferred
Working conditions, including physical requirements:
- Work is performed largely within the Bank with limited chance of personal injury. Prolonged and frequent mental, audio, visual, and verbal concentration required in responding to customer requests, computer work and viewing monitors. Fine motor skills to operate mouse and keyboard. Periodic stressful situations in response to multiple priorities within established deadlines. Work hours are generally daytime hours Monday-Friday.
