Job Description
Security Engineers Inc. is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and client-focused Security Systems Technician who demonstrates initiative, communicates effectively, and provides high-quality service and support.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in electronics, engineering, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 1 year of security systems technician experience or 3 years of related experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and working knowledge of electronics field, computer hardware/software, data networks, cabling, and AC/DC voltage.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Valid driver’s license and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company approved driver standards.
- Must be willing travel between the client facilities for special projects.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Configure, maintain, assemble, and program access control and VMS systems, including card readers, electronic door hardware, cameras, panic devices, gates, and intercom/phone devices.
- Act as a representative of the client when dealing with outside contractors on security device installations and repairs.
- Service and troubleshoot systems according to approved guidelines and standards.
- Read and follow installation prints and diagrams.
- Respond to trouble and occasional emergency after-hours calls.
- Document installation and maintenance activity accurately.
- Maintain a safe work environment and keep security information confidential.
Minimum Physical Requirements With or Without Reasonable Accommodation(Subject to change based on client-specific needs)
- Stand for at least 1 hour without support or break
- Sit for at least 1 hour without break
- Walk at least ½ mile without stopping
Education & Experience:
Minimum:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 1 years of verifiable security, military, or law enforcement experience.
Preferred:
- Education: Associate degree or higher preferred.
- Experience: 3 years of verifiable security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.
