Security Benefit is searching for an experienced Staff Auditor to join our team. SB associates are working a hybrid schedule with both remote and on-site work. This position will work in our home office in Topeka, Kansas or Overland Park, Kansas or Des Moines, Iowa office.

What Does the Job Look Like?
In Internal Audit you will work to assess risk and controls throughout the Company through diverse financial, operational, and technology related internal audit projects. You will assist with various risk focused internal audit projects to assess business processes by interviewing management and reviewing process documentation to identify and assess business process gaps and mitigating controls in compliance with the International Professional Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and other standards of internal control. This position works with all areas of the organization and all levels of management.
Assist in assessing risk and determining audit scope, objectives, and procedures to be performed as assigned
Perform and document various audit tests and analyses and conclusions in accordance with audit programs
Ensure work papers and other documentation are complete, appropriate, and in support of audit procedures conducted and planned
Coordinate audit efforts with the external auditors to ensure adequate and aligned audit coverage
Provide consultation to management regarding the improvement of processes and controls
Generate ideas, research, and evaluate risks related to business processes and technology and recommend improvements

Additional qualifications that you should have:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related degree preferred
Progress toward professional designation (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA) for levels II and III
1-2 years of Audit experience (either external or internal) or accounting experience beyond level I
