Security Officer - Selkirk, NY

We are currently hiring a full-time Security Officer for a site in Selkirk, NY. This position offers a pay rate of $17.50 per hour with a Monday through Friday, 1600–0000 schedule, totaling 40 hours per week. Reliable transportation is required, as public transit may not align with shift hours. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: • Monitor and control access to the facility from the guard shack at the entrance of the parking lot. • Allow vehicles in and out of the property and confirm they are permitted to be on site. • Use both technology systems and paper logs to accurately document vehicle entries and exits. • Utilize a scanning device to verify that vehicles being removed from the property are authorized to do so. • Oversee the secure entry and exit process for tractor trailers picking up vehicles stored on-site. • Maintain professionalism during interactions with drivers, visitors, and onsite personnel. • Write clear, accurate, and professional reports as needed. • Observe and report any suspicious activity or violations of site policies. ________________________________________ Qualifications: • Strong customer service and communication skills. • Excellent written skills for logging and report writing. • Ability to remain professional and calm in high-pressure or confrontational situations. • Comfortable working independently and maintaining awareness of surroundings. • Willingness to work outdoors when needed for brief interactions with drivers. • Prior security experience is preferred but not required. ________________________________________ If you are reliable, detail-oriented, and confident in managing access control responsibilities, we encourage you to apply and join a team committed to maintaining a secure and efficient environment.
