What You Can Expect:
- Provides public safety by patrolling campus buildings, parking lots, and other areas of campus, responding to emergencies, protecting people and property, enforcing campus parking rules and regulations and observing criminal law violations on campus properties.
- Issues parking warning and/ or campus parking citations and appear in court, when necessary, for incidents that may occur during the work shift.
- Conduct and review preliminary investigations of crimes and completes appropriate reports, including, but not limited to major crimes; theft; disputes/assaults; intoxication; security alarms, work Injuries etc.
- Promote good campus relations by interacting and assisting the students, staff and visitors by answering inquiries or explaining procedures relating to the campus, and nuisances, to resolve needs or complaints.
- Assist in emergency situations, including, but not limited to: responding to Fire and EMS calls; watching and reporting on potentially severe weather conditions, etc.
- Prepare written reports on shift activities in a timely manner.
- Perform to the requirement of the Standard Operating Guidelines and Procedures.
- Attends all training required for this assignment.
- Attends and participates in special events as requested.
Basic Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma, GED, OR ability to complete the GED program within 6 months.
Standard computer / technology skills needed.
- Must be able to interact with a wide range of individuals in a calm and professional manner.
- Must have great attention to detail and have the ability to remain alert throughout the duration of the shift.
- Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
- All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
- CPR certified is a plus.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Post high school education in criminal justice or related field is preferred.
- Experience in law enforcement / military police / or security field is preferred.
