Access Control Technician

Location: New Port News, VA

We’re hiring! Do you have a strong background in the alarm monitoring and service industry, exceptional customer service skills, and expertise in installing ACS equipment, we want you on our team! We are looking for a hands-on Access Control Technician to be the core link between our clients and field operations, ensuring the optimal programming, diagnostic health, and service support of critical alarm panels, access control, and IP video equipment.

You will work closely to resolve installation and repair challenges, interpreting technical data to optimize physical security systems.

What You'll Do:

• Remotely inspect, test and service alarms and other protective devices and equipment as assigned, within the scope of knowledge base and in compliance with manufacturers guidelines and safety practices

• Keep client and supervisor informed of faulty equipment and/or delays restoring equipment to fully operational capacity

• Prepare logs, reports or service orders as required by the position; write or type reports or enter information in a computer using standard grammar; inspect logs and takes action as required

• Work with contract field technicians to provide support for the repair, replacement and installation of alarm systems

• Communicate with technical staff, management, company representatives, and end-users regarding alarm testing, service and procedures

•Interpret available data to diagnose and arrange for on-site service when necessary

• Carry out specific tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for the assigned position

Basic Qualifications:

• US Citizenship preferred

•Ability to drive to assigned sites and preform assigned duties.

•Maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

•Must be at least 21 years of age.

•Must have a High School Diploma or GED. If not, must be willing to complete the GED program within six months.

•Must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.

What We're Looking For:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.

• Minimum two (2) years of experience in electronic security systems, including IP camera and access control installation or programming

• Have a minimum 2 years previous satisfactory work experience in the alarmmonitoring, installation or service industry.
