Join our dynamic team as an Aviation Security Officer, where your vigilance and dedication will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of all airport operations. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment by monitoring access points, conducting surveillance, and responding swiftly to security incidents. Your proactive approach will help safeguard passengers, staff, and airport assets, contributing to a smooth and secure travel experience for everyone.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security checkpoints and access control points to verify identities and authorize entry for authorized personnel, passengers, and visitors.
- Conduct thorough surveillance using CCTV systems to detect suspicious activity or security breaches across airport premises.
- Respond promptly to security alerts or incidents, coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
- Perform regular patrols of terminal areas, baggage claims, and restricted zones to deter theft, vandalism, or unauthorized access.
- Manage conflict situations with professionalism and tact, ensuring safety while de-escalating potential threats.
- Assist in first aid procedures and CPR if necessary, providing immediate support during medical emergencies.
- Maintain detailed logs of security activities, incidents, and inspections to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21
- Valid Driver’s License
- High School Diploma or GED
- Related experience preferred
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TSA clearance
Preferred Experience
- Proven experience in security roles, law enforcement, military service or related fields is highly desirable.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified.
- Familiarity with surveillance systems such as CCTV and loss prevention techniques.
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of airport security procedures and regulations is a plus.
- Ability to stand, walk and remain alert for extended periods during shifts.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues, passengers, and emergency responders.
