Commercial Electrician – Generator Systems
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Electrician to join our growing team specializing in commercial and industrial generator systems. This role involves installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining standby generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and associated electrical equipment for a wide range of commercial, healthcare, municipal, and industrial facilities. The ideal candidate has strong electrical troubleshooting skills, experience with backup power systems, and is committed to delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Install, wire, and commission commercial standby generator systems.
- Install and troubleshoot automatic transfer switches (ATS), switchgear, and related control systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel and natural gas generators.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using wiring diagrams, schematics, and testing equipment.
- Conduct load bank testing and system performance evaluations.
- Perform electrical service work on commercial and industrial facilities.
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, local electrical codes, and company safety standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, customers, and other trades to complete projects on schedule.
- Maintain accurate service reports, inspection records, and documentation.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency generator service as needed.
