We are looking for a social media rockstar with a passion for sports, culture, and storytelling to help
build and grow the digital voice of our wealth management firm and Secure The Bag (STB) financial literacy brand. Our firm works with collegiate and professional athletes and coaches, delivering real
financial education that changes lives. You'll be a creative force behind our online presence,
engaging audiences across platforms with content that's, relevant and mission driven
Who We Are:
Occident Wealth Management provides tailored financial solutions to athletes and coaches. Through
our Secure The Bag (STB) program, we deliver high-impact, engaging financial literacy sessions to
over 20 NCAA, NFL, and NBA teams.
Position Summary
The Social Media Coordinator will lead day-to-day content creation and platform management for
our brand channels. You'll help drive awareness, engagement, and credibility for both our financial
literacy mission and our firm. If you're creative, organized, sports-savvy, and a passion for athletes and finance we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow our presence across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube.
- Draft captions, schedule posts, and upload real-time content from events, podcast clips, and
behind-the-scenes moments.
- Repurpose educational content into bite-sized, high-impact visuals and videos.
Social Media Coordinator Job Description
- Coordinate social strategy and content calendar around athlete appearances, STB sessions, and brand partnerships.
- Stay plugged into trends in NIL, sports culture, and financial literacy to keep content fresh and
relevant.
- Track performance metrics and recommend adjustments to optimize engagement.
- Collaborate with freelancers and creatives for video or design needs when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience working with athletes, collegiate or professional sports programs, or NIL
brands.
- 2 years of social media experience, preferably with a focus on sports or finance .
- Strong writing and storytelling skills - especially for short-form content and captions.
- Familiarity with tools like Canva, CapCut, Instagram Reels editor, Buffer/Later, or similar.
- Ability to operate independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for sports, financial empowerment, and culturally relevant content.
Preferred (but not required)
- Experience in podcast promotion or short-form video editing.
- Skills in photography/videography at live events.
- Understanding of the financial literacy or wealth-building space.
