Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and professional Mortuary Transfer Specialist to join our dedicated team. This role involves coordinating the respectful transfer of deceased individuals, providing bereavement support to families, and ensuring smooth logistical operations during sensitive times. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle physically demanding tasks with care and professionalism. Experience in funeral directing, event planning, or sales is a plus, but we are willing to provide training for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and respectfully transfer deceased individuals from hospitals, homes, or other locations to the funeral home or designated facility.
  • Provide compassionate bereavement support and guidance to grieving families during difficult times.
  • Coordinate logistics for funeral services, including scheduling and transportation arrangements.
  • Assist with event planning related to funeral services and memorial events.
  • Handle heavy lifting safely when moving caskets or equipment, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of transfers and related activities.
  • Engage in sales activities by offering additional services or products to families when appropriate.
  • Ensure all transfer procedures comply with legal and health regulations while maintaining dignity and respect.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in funeral directing, bereavement support, event planning, or sales is appreciated but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
  • Compassionate demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills to support grieving families effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a respectful manner under emotionally sensitive circumstances.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving and criminal record is required.
