About the Role

This is not a traditional finance leadership role. We are looking for a highly strategic, hands-on leader who can:

• Own financial planning, forecasting, and accounting oversight
• Build and scale our business intelligence and analytics capabilities
• Leverage data and AI to improve decision-making across the organization
• Create visibility into revenue, advisor productivity, and operational performance
• Partner directly with senior leadership to drive growth and efficiency

You will work directly with the CEO and leadership team and play a critical role in helping SIM operate as a data-driven, high-performing organization. This role sits at the intersection of finance, analytics, and technology and is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-growing environments and enjoys building systems that scale.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Finance

• Lead company-wide financial planning, forecasting, and scenario modeling
• Provide insights that drive executive decision-making
• Evaluate growth initiatives, investments, and operational performance
• Build financial models that improve profitability and scalability

Accounting & Financial Operations

• Oversee accounting operations through the Controller
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly close and financial reporting
• Strengthen internal controls and financial discipline
• Manage audit processes and external accounting relationships

Business Intelligence & Analytics

• Own company-wide analytics and reporting strategy
• Build executive dashboards across revenue, advisor performance, and operations
• Develop KPI tracking and performance visibility across departments
• Analyze trends in sales, recruiting, marketing, and operational efficiency
• Translate data into actionable insights for leadership

AI & Data Enablement

• Identify and implement AI tools to improve reporting, forecasting, and productivity
• Automate manual reporting processes and improve data workflows
• Partner with leadership to leverage AI in decision-making and operational efficiency
• Continuously evaluate new tools and technologies to enhance analytics capabilities

Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

• Partner closely with sales, marketing, operations, and compliance leaders
• Support department leaders with budgeting, performance tracking, and insights
• Drive accountability through data transparency and reporting

What Success Looks Like

• Financial reporting is accurate, timely, and trusted
• Leadership has clear, real-time visibility into key business metrics
• Forecasting becomes reliable and actionable
• Payments, including commissions, are paid on-time and accurately
• Executive dashboards are widely adopted and drive decision-making
• Manual processes are reduced through automation and AI
• The organization becomes increasingly data-driven in how it operates

Qualifications

Required

• 8–15 years of finance, accounting, and analytics experience
• Experience in financial services, insurance, or similar industries preferred
• Strong financial modeling and forecasting capabilities
• Experience overseeing accounting and financial operations
• Experience building dashboards and analytics frameworks
• Strong proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools
• Experience leveraging AI tools or automation in business or finance processes
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
• Thrives in ambiguous situations
• Experience in a high-growth or scaling organization

Preferred

• CPA or accounting background
• Experience integrating data across multiple systems (CRM, finance, marketing)
• Experience implementing BI tools or analytics platforms

Compensation

• Pay Range: $160k - $190k Base Salary Annual Bonus
