What you will do:
The Senior BSA Analyst supports BSA Compliance Management with implementing the BSA/AML/OFAC compliance program. This position, through advanced knowledge and skill, provides support to the organization on all matters relating to BSA compliance procedures.
The Senior BSA Analyst adheres to regulations and organizational policies, maintaining awareness and knowledge required to perform the duties of the position, including all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act and related regulations, such as OFAC, and the USA Patriot Act, Fair Lending and Information Security.
A day in your life might include:
• Independently supports the daily activities and workflows related to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering, OFAC and Customer Identification Program.
• Responsible for investigating and providing resolution/opinion of more complex BSA cases/alerts/referrals.
• Ensures timely filing of reports with appropriate agencies and resolutions of investigations (alert/case management).
• Resolves general and more complex BSA compliance needs of the organization (within authority)
• Supports audit, exam and risk assessment data requests.
• Ensures the organization understands BSA Compliance requirements, alerts BSA Management of concerns, supports new initiatives/projects, balances BSA Compliance requirements with member service.
• Maintains knowledge, skills and certifications for BSA Compliance.
• Assists with the implementation of new processes/procedures (workflows).
• Provides training, guidance, and mentorship to entry level/developing and department staff and credit union employees as requested. Supports annual training development and tracking efforts. May review work of BSA staff.
• Conducts quality reviews of BSA Analyst and BSA Specialist work to ensure compliance with program and regulatory requirements.
• Reviews procedures and makes recommendations to BSAO for approval.
Additional Responsibilities may include:
• Collaborates with partner credit unions and S3 to ensure consortium-wide compliance with BSA/AML/OFAC requirements.
• Supports SECU projects (organization and department)
• Prepares department reporting
• Coordinates exam, audit and risk assessment processes
Education and Experience Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or higher degree preferred
  • Industry Certifications in BSA/AML Compliance
  • CUNA certifications: Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Specialist (BSACS) Certification, CAMS is optional
  • 3-5 years of financial institution experience. Credit Union experience preferred, not required
  • 2-5 years’ experience with BSA/AML/OFAC compliance
  • Prior AML system experience required
  • Experience investigating and resolving complex alerts/cases
  • Experience supporting annual audit and risk assessment efforts
  • Ability to train, coach, mentor and develop staff
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with BSA/AML software
  • Knowledgeable of required regulatory filings, responsibility for filing accurate SARs/CTRs
  • Knowledge of SECU MD processes, procedures, and philosophy preferred
  • Ability to research/interpret rules, regulations and recommend strategies to mitigate risk and maintain service
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to think outside of the box. Creative solution provider
  • Team oriented, collaborative. Ability to foster relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Proficient with MS Office products

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Compensation Information: Offers will be commensurate with experience and education. Please Note: We typically hire at or below mid-point, which is $79,900 for this role.
• Salary: Min. $61,500 – Max. $98,300
