JOB TITLE: Secondary Band Director, 1.0 FTE
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB SUMMARY: To provide education services to students in a classroom setting. The teacher instructs students, maintains student discipline and is responsible for student academic achievement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
- Hold or be eligible for Oregon Teaching Certification with Middle School/High School Level authorization and a music endorsement.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff, and parents.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Trauma Informed Care knowledge and SIOP/Constructing Meaning training.
- Spanish speaker.
- Willingness to work with extra-curricular activities.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide Music instruction through high school and middle school bands aligned with the Oregon Content and Performance Standards.
- Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students.
- Assists in the selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials.
- Prepares and administers subject/topical specific tests to measure student abilities and progress.
- Designs and implements appropriate instruction assigned in accordance with students' needs, District curriculum and state standards.
- Conducts appropriate assessments of students' work and maintains accurate and regular data on students in areas of attendance, grades and IEP progress, if applicable.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190-Day Contract at 1.0 FTE. Salary based on current SEA negotiated agreement, $51,826-$105,207 annually, plus annual stipend of $6,968 - $7,546, with excellent benefits including Medical, Dental and Vision insurance and Oregon state retirement.
