Role Description The Inspector role is a full-time, remote position focused on evaluating roofing systems and building envelopes for commercial properties. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting detailed inspections (often based on photos, reports, drawings, and remote coordination), documenting conditions, and identifying deficiencies, risks, and maintenance needs. The Inspector will prepare clear, concise inspection reports, including findings, photos, and recommendations for repairs or improvements. This role collaborates with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify scope, answer technical questions, and support project planning and budgeting. The Inspector will also help maintain inspection standards, follow safety and regulatory guidelines, and support continuous improvement of internal procedures and templates.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of commercial roofing systems, building envelope components, and related construction practices.
- Ability to perform thorough inspections, assess structural and material conditions, and identify code or performance issues.
- Strong report-writing skills with the ability to present technical findings in clear, accessible language.
- Proficiency with digital tools for documentation, including cameras, mobile apps, inspection software, and standard office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
