Role Overview:
As an Electrical Engineer II, you will own the end-to-end design of complex electrical systems, from initial concept and architecture through hardware bring-up and testing. Founded in 2016, SOE has grown from a 3-person operation to a team of over 40 members across offices in El Segundo, California and Redmond, Washington. Over the last nine years, we have completed over 250 projects and serviced over 100 different customers. Our designs control rocket engines, manage satellite communications, instrument fusion reactors, and are enjoyed by consumers around the world. The only thing we won’t build are weapons.

What You Will Do:
- Support the design, architecture, and development of electronic systems
- Work closely with internal engineering teams and external customers to build solutions across multiple industries
- Take ownership from schematic capture and PCB layout through hardware bring-up and troubleshooting
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to deliver on development activities ranging from design reviews to hardware bring-up and testing
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field
- 3 years of experience with end-to-end electronics design, including requirements generation, schematic design, board layout, design verification and acceptance testing
- Ability to collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team
- Demonstrated passion for engineering
- Strong problem-solving skills and initiative to overcome technical challenges
- Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills; ability to explain design decisions and component selections
- Experience in any common ECAD tool, such as Altium Designer, KiCad, Cadence, PADS, EAGLE, etc.
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or a related field
- Experience in a team-based design and build project (e.g., Formula SAE, Solar Car, CubeSat, etc.)
- Experience designing PCBs for high-reliability applications (e.g., aerospace, automotive, medical)
- Experience with analog small-signal circuit design (filters, op-amp circuits, signal conditioning) and/or power electronics designs: regulators, load drivers, supply filters, protection circuitry
- Compensation range of $132,070-$165,090 equity incentive plan
