Machine Operator- Morning 7:00a-3:30p

We are on a mission to grow Second Nature Brands 2x from $500MM to $1 B in the next 4 years through a combination of organic growth (increased distribution, e-commerce, and innovation) and through M&A. We have an opening for a Packaging Machine Operator position, who will be an important member of the supply chain team during this growth. This position will be based out of our Sanders Chocolate Factory 23770 Hall Road in Clinton Township, MI 48036

A Machine Operator is a vital member of our production team, assisting in the process of multiple kinds of our famous Sanders products to fulfill our vision of Making things better by nourishing people and nature.

Regular working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00am -3:30pm, with weekday or weekend overtime as needed. The starting rate $17.50 per.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include

• Efficiently monitor and run various packaging machines
• Ensure accurate code dates, weights, and that products are put into appropriate packaging
• Perform assigned preventative maintenance
• Troubleshoot & correct packaging machine problems
• Clean packaging machines and maintain a clean work environment.
• Assist with setting up and changing over of packaging machines
• Work with team lead and supervisor to hit performance targets
• Follow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Q&FS (Quality & Food Safety), and OSHA Safety policies
• Maintain clean and safe work area
• Preform other related duties as assigned
  
  

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old;
• High school diploma/GED;
• English proficient
• Must have a positive attitude
• At least 1 year of machine operator experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment;
• Self-directed;
• Ability to work well with peers and supervisors;
• Attention to detail;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to keep production lines running efficiently.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Standing for 8-10 hours;
• Walking up and down stairs;
• Lifting up to 50 lbs frequently;
• Working in slightly elevated temperatures;
• Wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) provided by company.
  
  

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, you will regularly work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can be high and employee may be required to wear personal protective equipment. This is an indoor food manufacturing setting.
