Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Commercial Driver's License (CDL A) Delivery Driver to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating refrigerated box trucks and tractor trailers to transport goods efficiently and accurately to various destinations. Your primary focus will be on providing exceptional customer service while ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining safety standards, and managing load and unload operations. This position offers an energetic work environment where your driving skills and commitment to excellence will make a tangible impact every day.
This is a time-limited position, beginning upon completion of the hiring process, and concluding on June 30, 2027. This position is funded through a grant. Continued employment is contingent upon availability of grant funding.
Duties
- Safely operate box trucks and tractor trailers to deliver products across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, electric pallet jacks, lift gates, or manual lifting techniques, ensuring items are handled with care and precision
- Verify delivery orders, inspect vehicles for safety issues, and complete necessary documentation accurately
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries, addressing questions or concerns promptly
- Plan efficient routes to optimize delivery times and reduce fuel consumption while maintaining schedule commitments
- Assist with warehouse operations including inventory management, stock rotation, and organizing shipments as needed
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns immediately
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver with a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A) and familiarity with refrigerated box trucks and tractor trailers
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Experience in warehouse operations, including loading/unloading cargo and handling heavy lifting tasks
- Knowledge of route driving best practices, traffic laws, and safety protocols
- Ability to operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, lift gates and refrigerated box trucks and tractor trailer vehicles safely and efficiently
- Physical stamina for moving heavy items regularly and performing manual tasks throughout the shift
- Excellent organizational skills for managing deliveries, paperwork, and vehicle maintenance logs
