We are seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our IT team. In this role, you will serve as a bridge between IT and business teams, analyzing business needs and translating them into actionable technical solutions. This role involves enhancing our business systems to support efficient processes, improving productivity, and aligning IT solutions with organizational strategic goals. Your projects will run the gamut from something as simple as improving the interfaces for business systems we already have, to driving the implementation of new applications or redesigning how we physically do our work within the spaces we occupy. An employee’s regular remote work site should be within
driving distance of one of Second Harvest’s locations and must be within the state of California.
Hours
Full-Time. Exempt. 40 hours/week, with some evening and weekend work as necessary.
Compensation
$96,002 - $112,944 is the wage range for this position. The hourly/salary wage offer will be commensurate with skills and experience. Outstanding and generous health benefits program,
4-5 weeks of Flexible Time Off (vacation and sick), eleven paid holidays, and retirement plan.

BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS GATHERING
- Work closely with business team liaisons, IT resources, and stakeholders across departments to understand business needs, processes, and objectives.
- Conduct interviews, workshops, and document analysis to gather detailed requirements for new systems or system enhancements.
- Work with developers to design solutions, validate feasibility, and ensure scalability.
- Analyze existing systems and workflows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement.
- Develop and document functional specifications, system design requirements, and workflow diagrams.
- Work with IT teams to ensure that system designs meet business requirements and technical standards.
- Support project planning by developing timelines, defining project scope, and estimating resources.
- Collaborate with business teams, developers, and other team members during the implementation phase.
- Conduct system testing, including functional, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure system changes meet quality standards.
- Act as a liaison between IT teams and business units, ensuring clear communication and understanding of system requirements and constraints.
- Provide training and support to end-users, helping them understand system functionalities and maximize the system’s value.
- Collaborate with data teams to ensure accurate data integration, reporting, and business intelligence.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards that support business decision-making.
- 3-5 years’ experience as a Business Systems Analyst, IT Business Analyst, Product Manager, Manager of Business Applications or practical experience in the analysis, design, and implementation of technical projects, including experience with writing and managing user stories and functional design and designing and delivering an enhancement roadmap.
- Subject matter expertise in one or more additional business process areas preferred – Supply Chain, Inventory, CRM, Sales, Sales Ops, Non-Profit Development, Accounts Receivable, Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, etc.
- 2-4 years’ practical experience successfully leading/managing the execution of technology projects required. Experience managing complex technology projects spanning multiple functional areas, systems or stakeholder groups preferred.
- ERP and CRM experience are strongly preferred. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Salesforce is strongly preferred. Certifications are a plus.
