Job Title: Distribution Center Associate
Job Summary: The Distribution Center Associate is responsible for acceptance and delivery of all products; and the general maintenance, cleanliness, and organization of all facilities, equipment and vehicles.
Reports to: Distribution Center Manager
Classification: Non-Exempt (Full-Time)
Hourly Range: $20.85 (Median) to $25.00 (Maximum)

Essential Functions:
1. Cultivate positive relations with program participants, agency and community partners, volunteers, donors, staff and other constituents upholding our organization’s commitment to treating all with fairness, dignity and respect.
2. Keep up to date on industry trends, have working knowledge of the Feeding America Partner Food Bank Agreement requirements, information contained on HungerNet, and the Learning Hub, as it relates to the Distribution Center Associate position.
3. Accurately process inventory transactions related to job functions in Ceres.
4. Make sound decisions regarding the acceptance and delivery of food and non-food item donations ensuring the quality of food selected and the safety of agency and community partners and program recipients.
5. Ensure the timely unloading, inspection, and inventory of all product arriving at the facility and sign necessary admittance forms.
6. Organize and maintain the distribution center to ensure maximum cleanliness and efficiency of space.
7. Complete and record required documentation (e.g. equipment temperature logs, pest control reports, vehicle inspection reports, and cleaning schedules).
8. Pick and set up of orders for delivery and pick up.
9. Observe safety practices and procedures while in and out of the distribution center and while operating equipment and vehicles. Allow no one, except staff, to go into distribution center without the accompaniment of staff.
10. Support required training (personal and food safety; civil rights, etc.) and implementation to ensure dignified and safe food access; personal safety of staff, volunteers, agency and community partners, program participants and/or others working at/visiting organizational facilities and/or program sites.
11. Load and check all orders departing the facility to ensure accuracy prior to delivery.
12. Inspect equipment reporting any maintenance issues to the Distribution Center Manager.
13. Other duties as assigned by the Distribution Center Manager and/or Director of Operations.
Qualifications Required:
- High School Education or equivalent experience
- Interest in hunger issues or related social services
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organization skills and an attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, exercising initiative and sound judgment
- Ability to work as a team with various staff members
- Sound data/record management
- Computer experience including experience with Microsoft 365
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, 100 pounds occasionally; frequently lift, bend and stand
- Satisfactorily pass pre-employment and on-going employment drug testing
- Forklift Operator Safety Training (may be obtained following hire)
- ServSafeâ Certification or equivalent (may be obtained following hire)
Qualifications Preferred:
- Knowledge of, or experience in, the food and/or transportation industry
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid CDL Class A or B driver’s license (depending on position), clean driving record, and medical card
- Computer experience including experience with Microsoft 365
