ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. In this role, you will support the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization, help ensure the accuracy of financial records, and contribute to timely month-end and year-end close processes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and post journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and balance sheet accounts
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including contacting customers with past due balances
- Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
- Analyze financial data and investigate variances from budget and prior periods
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings and regulatory reports
- Support process improvement initiatives within the accounting department
- Respond to ad hoc financial inquiries from management and other departments
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At least 2 years of accounting experience (public accounting or industry)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred:
- CPA candidate or progress toward CPA licensure
- Experience with ERP systems
- Exposure to financial statement preparation and audit support
- Non-profit accounting experience

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, reconciliations)
- Familiarity with accounting/ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP)
