Job Title: Front Desk Attendant
Reports To: Director of Resident Services
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt | Full-Time
Location: Residence on Acoma 1501 S Acoma Denver 80223
Job Summary
The Front Desk provides a consistent front desk presence while also delivering peer-based support to residents at ACOMA. This hybrid role is designed to ensure the safety and security of the property while fostering a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented environment. The individual in this position draws on lived experience to build trust and motivate residents, offering encouragement, guidance, and access to services, all while monitoring property activity and ensuring adherence to building rules and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a courteous and consistent presence at the front desk throughout shift; staff must always remain awake and on-site.
- Monitor building access, verify visitor identification, and ensure residents escort their guests as required.
- Conduct hourly property rounds and monitor security cameras to ensure safety and compliance with community rules.
- Respond to emergency situations (e.g., fire alarms, disturbances), contacting first responders and Property Manager as needed.
- Answer incoming calls, relay messages, and assist with front office communication as directed.
- Complete required documentation such as logbook entries, incident reports, and inspection checklists.
- Promote a clean, safe, and supportive environment through regular inspections and by reporting maintenance or safety concerns.
- Enforce property rules fairly and escalate violations to Property Management.

- Strong communication skills; ability to interact respectfully and effectively with diverse populations.
- Skilled in conflict resolution, de-escalation, and crisis prevention.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and maintain composure in fast-paced settings.
- Empathy and understanding for residents with a history of incarceration, homelessness, substance use, or mental health challenges.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Lived experience with incarceration, homelessness, mental health, or recovery is required.
- Completion of a Peer Support Training/Certification or willingness to complete within first 90 days of employment.
- Experience in front desk, security, or customer service roles is a plus.
- Proficient in English (oral and written); bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Basic computer skills, including use of Microsoft Word and office equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, use hands and fingers, and lift up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- Full-time, 40 hours per week. Monday – Friday, with opportunity for additional coverage as needed. In-person position at the Residence on Acoma site.
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $18.00 – $22.00/hour
- Benefits: This is a non-benefit position
