Position Overview
Second Baptist Church is seeking an experienced Accounting & Finance Coordinator to manage financial operations, ensure compliance with policies, and maintain accurate records. This role is critical to supporting the church’s mission through sound financial stewardship and administrative leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general accounting functions: accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, vendor setup, and weekly check runs.
- Prepare financial reports, income statements, and assist with audits.
- Manage payroll, tax filings, and maintain internal controls.
- Support budget development and monitor expenditures throughout the fiscal year.
- Oversee volunteers and supervise administrative staff.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with non-profit accounting standards.
Qualifications
- Strong Christian faith and alignment with the mission of Second Baptist Church.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of accounting experience (non-profit or church setting strongly preferred).
- 5-7 years of accounting experience w/o a Bachelor's degree.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and strong knowledge of accounting principles.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and professionalism.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
