Job Summary
The Community Compliance Specialist is responsible for timely and accurately reviewing inbound inquiries regarding HOA governing documents.
- Analyzing and understanding leasing restrictions and application requirements prior to the purchase of any home
- Compiling details regarding HOA governing documents
- Providing analytical thinking to help advance HOA applications and use restrictions imposed by individual HOAs
This position will be under the direct supervision of the Community Compliance Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Answering inbound phone/email inquiries from Second Avenue team members regarding the review and approval of HOA governing documents
- Reviewing HOA governing documents for leasing or other use restrictions
- Managing and resolving HOA violations in a timely manner
- Managing and assisting in application processing for any HOA applications
- Providing high-level service for residents with dedication to service and a positive sense of urgency
- Researching required information using multiple systems and resources
- Providing analytical and critical thinking for incoming inquiries to help develop and streamline resolutions and responses
- Assisting residents with use restrictions imposed by individual HOAs
- Managing and maintaining HOA database within Second Avenue systems
Qualifications and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Three years experience in a fast-paced property management environment
- Familiarity with HOA governing documents such as CC&Rs, Bylaws, Rules & Regulations, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to use a computer proficiently, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Job Competencies

- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook, and the ability to learn other programs/software
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and non-traditional holidays, as needed
- Extreme attention to detail and ability to communicate complex findings in clear and concise manner
- Ability to determine trends and communicate same to senior management
- Ability to compare, copy, compute, compile, analyze, coordinate, negotiate, communicate, and instruct
