Shipping/Receiving Coordinator
General Description of Work
Secession Golf Club is seeking a Full-Time Shipping/Receiving Coordinator to receive and organize all arriving products shipped to the Club, to deliver all products to the Clubhouse as required, and to manage access traffic through all gates.
Essential Functions
The following functions are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.
Receiving
- Receive and organize all delivered items. Freezer, cold or dry storage as needed.
- Communicate with delivery drivers to confirm that items ordered are received.
- Communicate changes to the order to the appropriate department as determined by the Dept. Head.
- Receiving Examples
- General - FedEx, UPS, Amazon for all Departments
- Food & Beverage – Sysco, US Foods, Beverage,
- May require cold, freezer storage or secured cage.
- Some longer term storage is available - water
- Shipsticks member and guest golf bag deliveries
- Retail Vendors
- Can be held in dry storage until Golf Retail can accept them
- Items for members visiting the Club or Residents of the Blue Gray Estates
Delivery
- All products received at the Ops Building of the Club must be delivered to the appropriate department – as needed.
- Some items like F&B is perishable and are delivered more quickly.
- Some items can wait and be delivered as needed.
Gate Management
- Manage the Club’s gate app to vet anyone coming to the gates without an access code. Primarily for delivery drivers and at the Blue Gray gate.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be detail oriented and organized.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and through email (Microsoft Outlook) with vendors, truck drivers, and Secession staff.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds safely.
- Experience with inventory software and shipping platforms like UPS and FedEx is a plus.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- While this position's primary responsibilities evolve around shipping and receiving, the ideal candidate must be willing to assist other departments as needed during slow periods. One example would be assisting maintenance during the summer months on projects. This question could be asked during the interview process.
- Position will involve using a hand truck and pallet jack - no forklift.
- Maintain cooler/freezer temperature logs and report deficiencies to the Facilities Department.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
- Willingness to adjust and conform to varying schedules although primary workdays will be Monday thru Friday.
- Enforcing rules and policies of Secession Golf Club
- Must have a clean driving record
