Material / Parts Handler 1st shift

Job Responsibilities

As a Material Handler the responsibilities will be to unload, load and deliver materials to different parts of the plant. The main responsibilities will be to unload steel from the trucks and put in designated areas. At times there will be product that will need to be loaded. In addition there will be times that material will need to be brought to different production areas.

Job Duties:

Load and unload incoming and outgoing materials and products

Move materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas

Operate trucks, forklifts, cranes, and other equipment to move freight

Comply with all warehouse safety rules and guidelines

Ability to lift heavy materials with forklift

Operate computers and relevant warehouse management computer software

Handling multiple complex tasks simultaneously

Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders

Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.

The willingness to assist other departments as necessary based on workflows

Follow all safety precautions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of forklifts, tools, equipment

Good organizational and time management skills

Operate and manage general office equipment

Ability to be flexible pertaining to operations.

Data entry skills

Minimum Qualifications:

· High School diploma or GED

· Previous experience operating a forklift

· Previous warehouse experience

· Be able to possess a valid Forklift Driver’s License

· The ability to work well independently and possess self-motivation to get the job done

· Trustworthiness and reliability (must be ready to start work at the time shift begins and work diligently under minimal supervision)

· Strong work ethic and attention to detail

· Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

Working conditions: Work areas may have exposure to dust and other particles, various weather conditions, various temperatures, load noises, vibrations Able to work within facilities and outdoors, with exposure to large moving equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

• Bonus pay

• Hopkins, MI 49328: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

• Materials handling: 1 year (Preferred)
