We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Brewer to join our team. In this role, you'll be at the heart of crafting high-quality beers, from raw ingredients to finished product. Major Responsibilities:
Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following
- Extensive knowledge of production brewing and beer/fermentation science.
- Monitor, regulate, and control the brewing process.
- Adherence to safety and sanitation procedures and regulations.
- Operation of necessary equipment including but not limited to: forklifts, filter, scale and mill, temperature controls, hydrometer, various pumps and hoses, lab equipment.
- Attend various public events and be able to answer inquiries and engage the public regarding Sebago beer.
- Complete various cleaning duties in the brewery.
- Answer questions of restaurant staff and customers regarding lines and equipment, deliveries, keg orders, seasonal schedules, etc.
- Design Pilot beers
- Attend and participate in tasting programs and classes as assigned.
- Be able to accurately compare and describe all Sebago beer.
Essential Physical Requirements:
· Ability to see and speak.
· Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
· Ability to handle and operate tools and equipment.
· Ability to smell and taste.
· Ability to reach, bend, lift, stoop and scrub.
· Must be of legal age to consume and sell alcohol.
Knowledge and Skills
A. Special skills or knowledge necessary for this position
· Minimum 1 year of brewery experience.
· Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Basic reading and writing skills.
· Ability to operate a forklift a plus.
· Strong communication skills
· Strong adherence to safety and sanitation
· The ability to multi-task and prioritize.
· Team player
B. Licenses, certifications, or registrations required for this position
· Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
· Valid driver’s license.
