Compensation Rate: $15.50 per hour (Eligible for Tipped Pool Program)

What you get to do:

You’ll prepare high quality food that meets United Parks & Resorts standards by following menu specifications. You will follow all safety and HACCP guidelines, use proper protective gear, and test food temperatures. You will also:

• Oversee final prepared food quality
• Cook high-quality food to menu specifications
• Utilize advanced and non-automated kitchen equipment, including open flame char grill, smokers, steam kettles, woks and large bakery machinery
• Complete food prep by cutting and chopping of vegetables, fruits and meats
• Assemble wraps, sandwiches, salads, fruit cups, etc.
• Keep all assigned areas clean and sanitary
• Incorporate knowledge of top eight allergens into the preparation of dietary meals
• Interact with Ambassadors and guests and deliver excellent service
• Perform other duties as assigned

What it takes to succeed:

• Ability to work with all food types, including food allergens, in any dining facility
• At least one year of cooking experience or a combination of cooking experience and culinary school
• Basic knife skills
• Ability to pass SafeStaff training and RCS Responsible Vendor Training (alcohol)
• Ability to train on and use protective gear and kitchen equipment
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-production environment
• Ability to prepare special dietary meals
• Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests
• Valid state driver's license preferred
• In-depth food safety and allergen knowledge a plus
• Perform other duties as assigned

What else is important:

• Able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed
• Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)
• Able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors and cold/heat temperature extremes Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals
• Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities
